exploring #atx with the childlike wonder of a tourist & the knowledge of a local

Howdy, and welcome to my blog! This is all about my journey to explore my hometown of Austin, Texas as if I were a tourist to keep my affinity for the city fresh.

I’m currently a sophomore at Texas State University working on my degree in advertising. I’m not your standard Don Draper, though.

I’m a (tastefully) vulgar 21-year-old raging, progressive feminist with a love for cats, craft beer and rap music. Some of my hobbies include thrifting, posting up at coffee shops, dyeing my hair, telling my cat that he’s a good boy, spending too much time on Twitter and eating Tex-Mex. So, yeah. Not Don Draper.

Among the things I cherish most in life, new experiences have to be towards the top of the list. I would much rather try everything once than have unlimited access to my favorite version of something. This is why I have chosen a blog that revolves around experiences. I want to eat at every noteworthy restaurant in Austin, see every sight I can get to, have a sip from every beer garden and cafe, and try my hand at every activity the city has to offer.

I’ll be documenting my experiences here and encourage you to join me along the way. If my amateur photography skills and cheesy writing style fail to keep you entertained, I hope this blog can at least encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, try something new and keep it fresh.
